Mazel Stores Announces Name and Symbol Change; New Name: Odd Job Stores, Inc.; New Nasdaq Symbol: ODDJ

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 18, 2002

Mazel Stores, Inc. (Nasdaq:MAZL), a closeout chain of 77 stores operating primarily under the name Odd Job, announced today that it has changed its company name to Odd Job Stores, Inc. and its ticker symbol to (Nasdaq:ODDJ). The changes will be effective on June 19, 2002.

Peter Hayes, Mazel's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "Our decision to change our company name reflects the strategic repositioning of the Company to a close-out retail operation. The vast majority of our 77 stores operate under the name Odd Job and now our company will operate under this same name."

Mr. Hayes concluded by saying, "Our customers and vendors have associated the Odd Job name with closeout retail stores that offer brand name merchandise for less with a `treasure hunt' shopping experience. Our corporate name change will further enhance this recognizable brand."
