CALABASAS HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 20, 2002
THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) today announced that "Britney's Dance Beat(TM)" for PC is now available at retailers nationwide. The video game features Britney Spears' songs, music videos, behind-the-scenes video clips and challenging gameplay. The PC version differs from "Britney's Dance Beat" for PlayStation(R) 2 and Game Boy(R) Advance, both currently available at retail, with a Britney Quiz and a Free Play mode in which fans can create their own choreography.
"`Britney's Dance Beat' for PC looks great and is fun to play," stated Britney Spears Co-Manager Larry Rudolph, Rudolph & Beer, LLC. "Now there is a version of this compelling game for every Britney fan -- be they a console gamer, a gamer on the go, or a PC user."
"Millions and millions of PC users now have access to `Britney's Dance Beat,' which features concert videos, behind-the-scenes access for fans, amazingly accurate Britney renders and exciting gameplay," stated Jeff Lapin, vice chairman and COO, THQ. "These factors, combined with Britney Spears' widespread popularity and appeal, create a fun PC gaming experience for video game fans and Britney fans alike."
About "Britney's Dance Beat"
Players of "Britney's Dance Beat" for PC will audition to be a backup dancer on Britney's virtual concert tour by maneuvering one of seven characters through a series of practices and auditions to perfect their dance moves. Rhythmic pressing of the right buttons to the beat of Britney's hit songs will unlock exclusive behind-the-scenes video footage and concert clips.
The game features Britney's biggest hit songs, including new releases "Overprotected" and "I'm a Slave 4 U," as well as favorites "...Baby One More Time," "Oops!...I Did it Again" and "Stronger." Players can string together their own moves in Free Play mode, creating their own choreography, or test their Britney knowledge with the Britney Quiz.
True fans will recognize the authentic choreography from Britney music videos and live performances. Players will also appreciate the realistic in-game and cut scene Britney Spears models -- cyber-scanning was used to create the most realistic 3-D models possible.
The game is the first to release for PC under THQ's worldwide, exclusive agreement with Britney Brands Inc. to publish games featuring Britney Spears, one of the biggest names in entertainment. For more information on "Britney's Dance Beat" or other THQ video games, please visit www.thq.com.
