SANTA CLARA, Calif. and SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 20, 2002
Kerio Technologies, a Silicon Valley publisher of Internet security products, and Bibit Global Payment Systems (Bibit) today announced a partnership that will provide Kerio's sales partners with the ability to pay using Bibit's flexible and scalable payment architecture, which includes broad support of international payment methods. Kerio announced that it will begin using Bibit's global payment platform to support its international customers. While Europe accounts for more than one third of its sales, Kerio will now be able to reach across geographic borders and support more than 60 payment methods.
"Bibit's payment solution is impressive. The variety of payment options gives our partners convenient alternatives to using credit cards and that removes barriers to ordering online," said Dusan Vitek, marketing director of Kerio Technologies Inc. "Because Kerio has resellers in over 40 countries worldwide, it is important for us to have a payment gateway designed to support a variety of cultures and currencies."
Over the past year, the need for U.S.-based companies to support a broad array of payment methods across many countries has substantially increased. In its recent report, "Seeing Beyond Credit Card Payment Online," Forrester Research noted, "While credit cards are used by 20 million European online shoppers (one-third of consumers), the other 34 million prefer to use alternative payment mechanisms like checks, cash on delivery, or direct debit." Through its partnership with Bibit, Kerio will now be able to extend its reach into vast new customer populations.
