District Selects Premio Computer's eSembler for Education(TM)
To Replace Inadequate Existing System
Premio Computer, a leading provider of technology solutions to the educational community, today announced that Grand Prairie Independent School District (ISD) of Grand Prairie, Texas has selected eSembler for Education(TM) to automate its grade management processes and, ultimately, enable all parties in the educational community to more effectively access information, communicate with one another, and manage their interrelated tasks.
With the help of eSembler for Education, the district is reducing previously overwhelming time and resource demands needed to gather, process, and distribute grades. Now, teachers simply create and grade an assignment once -- all grade calculations are tabulated and completed automatically.
At the end of a progress report or grading cycle, eSembler's Internet-based administrative application is used to "lock" school grades. Once locked, all student grades are automatically transmitted to the Region 10 Educational Service Center for processing.
Confidentiality and system security are assured; every user who gains access to eSembler is first authenticated using district security protocols. Grand Prairie ISD's previous electronic grade book system is being replaced in this process.
"We've used electronic grade book systems over the past four years with mixed success," said Lyle Dubus, Executive Administrator of Information Technology for Grand Prairie ISD.
"eSembler offers us new capabilities that are not available in any other package we've surveyed, like a pure Web-based environment with open database architecture. With eSembler, we'll soon even be able to provide parents real-time access to their children's grade information -- right across the Internet."
In addition to its grade and assignment capabilities, eSembler has a number of other powerful features, including a personalized user interface, asset management capabilities, a suite of customizable reporting tools, and the flexibility necessary to assure integration with the Region 10 Student Information System.
"We are excited at working with a district as technologically advanced as Grand Prairie ISD. Our Web-based application for managing student information and assessment provides extended capabilities and efficiencies that the district never before dreamed possible," said Rob Greer, Vice President of Product Management for the eSembler Division of Premio Computer.
"When a district selects eSembler, it demonstrates that our development team has built a world-class, scalable application that truly meets the needs of our end users. Even better, we feel we're making a difference in schools by giving teachers more time to do what they do best -- teach."
