Revolutionary New Product Provides Individual Access to
Corporate Email, Calendar and Contacts
Wireless Knowledge, a QUALCOMM Inc. (Nasdaq:QCOM) company and market leader in delivering enterprise-grade strategic mobility solutions, today announced the release of a new mobile groupware offering, Workstyle(R) Desktop Edition.
The newest member of the Workstyle family allows individual business professionals to access their email, calendar and contact information through the convenience of a mobile device. The software can be easily downloaded and installed onto a desktop PC directly by the user, and is available starting today at www.wirelessknowledge.com.
Workstyle Desktop Edition is designed to meet the needs of the growing number of mobile professionals that find themselves out of the office, but still need to remain connected to the email, calendar and contact information they depend on. The solution provides access in both synchronization mode for popular Palm OS and Pocket PC devices as well as browse mode using a standard Internet browser or Internet-enabled phone. The support for a diverse group of devices provides tremendous flexibility for a broad range of customers, and delivers the freedom to choose the device or multiple devices the user prefers.
"Information is the lifeblood of the mobile professional, and as more people rely on their email and calendar information to effectively manage the many facets of their daily lives, there is an ever-increasing need for a mobile solution to keep them connected to the information they use every day," said Eric Schultz, chairman and CEO, Wireless Knowledge. "Workstyle Desktop Edition is an innovative offering that provides business professionals the ability to wirelessly connect to the corporate data they require with the freedom and convenience they demand."
Workstyle Desktop Edition provides the business professional with a host of personal benefits including increased productivity and collaboration, timely and efficient communication, competitive advantage, and enhanced customer responsiveness. Specific features of the product include:
-- Internet-ready phone browsers (e.g., devices running Verizon Mobile Web, Sprint PCS Wireless Web, or Nextel Wireless Web) -- PC browser access (e.g., PC or laptop running Microsoft Internet Explorer, Web Kiosk)
Workstyle Desktop Edition enables the user to wirelessly synchronize information between their mobile device and their desktop PC. Users can control the synch process through simple rules and store the data locally on their Pocket PC or Palm OS device. Synchronization can be on a set schedule or triggered when the user receives new information. Synchronization devices supported include:
-- Internet-ready phone browsers (e.g., devices running Verizon Mobile Web, Sprint PCS Wireless Web, or Nextel Wireless Web) -- PC browser access (e.g., PC or laptop running Microsoft Internet Explorer, Web Kiosk)
Workstyle Desktop Edition also provides users with the freedom to access their information in browse mode using a PC with an Internet browser or a Web-enabled mobile phone. The browser option allows users to access their email, calendar and contact information in real-time from their home PC, Web Kiosk or any PC running Internet Explorer. Browser-based devices supported include:
-- Internet-ready phone browsers (e.g., devices running Verizon Mobile Web, Sprint PCS Wireless Web, or Nextel Wireless Web) -- PC browser access (e.g., PC or laptop running Microsoft Internet Explorer, Web Kiosk)
