CARROLLTON, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 2002

Greenway Medical Technologies announces the production deployment of

its PrimeSuite system, including integrated clinical,

financial and administrative workflow within physicians' practices.

Greenway Medical Technologies, Inc., provider of integrated practice management and electronic medical records (EMR) software solutions for physicians' practices, announced today that PrimeSuite is fully implemented and in use at some of its client sites.

The physicians' practices using PrimeSuite in production include Women's Group of Meridian, Meridian, Miss.; and Tanner GYN, Villa Rica, Ga. These practices are the first to be fully operational on the entire software suite, including the newly released PrimeChart EMR module and the previously released PrimePractice practice management module. These clients lead a group of previously deployed PrimePractice users entering the EMR phase of production rollout of PrimeSuite into their automated practice workflow. Greenway is executing on its aggressive plans to rollout PrimeChart into its currently deployed PrimePractice client base.

PrimeSuite is an ambulatory software suite designed specifically to integrate all of a practice's workflow, and includes integrated EMR, practice management and managed care functionality. PrimeSuite's two main modules are PrimePractice, which provides practice management functionality, and PrimeChart, which provides point-of-care EMR functionality. With the introduction of PrimeChart, PrimeSuite is now generally available for production purposes in its entirety for the first time.

"After electronically documenting and signing my first four patient encounters with PrimeChart, I felt a little disoriented as to what I was to do next. That is, I had become so conditioned to dictating after every patient encounter, that upon completion of the patient's history and physical note using PrimeChart at the point-of-care, I just assumed that electronic documentation could not be that simple. It was at that point that I realized that I was well on my way to eliminating my current dictation and transcription review process," said Dr. Steve Harris of Woman's Group of Meridian. "I had always thought that one day I would no longer have to deal with administrative headaches associated with paper-based patient charts. However, until that first day of using PrimeChart at the point-of-care, I was always skeptical about the concept of a paperless practice. Now with the use of PrimeSuite and Greenway's assistance, I am confident that my practice will eliminate all paper-based patient charts."

Based on each practice's operational structure, each practice is using applicable components of PrimeSuite during the necessary steps of the patient visit, from scheduling appointments to documenting the clinical encounter to billing and claims processing. The software integrates each practice's clinical, financial and administrative functions, virtually eliminating redundant data entry and management, automating documentation and streamlining the coding and billing processes. According to Greenway officials, physicians at each of these practices are spending significantly less time and energy on administrative and clerical tasks, thanks to the software.

"As I complete the Progress Note for a patient visit, PrimeSuite recommends the appropriate E&M codes set forth by CMS based on the documentation," said Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald of Tanner GYN. "Rather than worrying about the code that CMS will approve, I can fully concentrate on my patient. Not worrying about coding, and spending my time improving patient care, is well worth the expense."

PrimeSuite was designed by a team of physicians, practice administrators, nurses and technologists and underwent rigorous on- site testing prior to its general release. More than 55 medical professionals directly worked with the software to ensure its usability and functionality.

"With PrimeChart now in production at client sites, it is very exciting to watch our vision become a reality," said Mr. Tommy Green, CEO and Chairman of Greenway. "At certain points during this journey, many people questioned our ability to deliver the `holy grail' of point-of-care electronic patient documentation. The fact that our clients can now use PrimeChart at the point-of-care is the result of a very focused and committed team along with a very supportive client base."
