Provide Standards-Based 10-Gigabit Ethernet and Complete MPLS
Foundry Networks(R), Inc. (Nasdaq:FDRY), a leading provider of high-performance enterprise and service provider switching, routing and Web traffic management solutions, announced today that it achieved NEBS Level 3 Compliance for its NetIron(R) 1500 Metro router. The NEBS Level 3 Compliance underwrites the physical and operational robustness of the NetIron 1500 Metro routers, which meets the highest-level criteria for deployment in a Telco Central Office and similar unattended and remote deployments. The NetIron 1500 Metro routers are now certified to meet the most demanding physical and operational criteria for deployment in service provider environments in accordance with the NEBS' standards.

The NEBS compliance testing process involves an extensive suite of tests designed to evaluate telecommunications network equipment in a variety of environmental conditions, including fire, earthquake, high vibration, extreme temperatures, and electromagnetic interference.
Foundry's NetIron 1500 router is the industry's first NEBS Level-3 Compliant Metro router to provide a complete suite of standards based 10-Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, providing ten-fold performance and scalability over Gigabit Ethernet.
