MENLO PARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 2002
LISATek(R), a company revolutionizing the design of embedded processors for system-on-chip (SoC) solutions, announced it has received first-round funding and formed a new entity in Germany -- LISATek GmbH -- to complement its U.S. operations.
LISATek was founded in 2001 as a privately held electronic design automation (EDA) company, based on technology developed at Aachen University of Technology in Germany. The company received its first round of outside funding from S-VC, the venture capital arm of German Savings Bank.
"We have successfully run LISATek with private funding," said Uri Mayer, co-founder and CEO of LISATek. "Now we are pleased that an organization of S-VC's caliber will be helping to bring the company to the next level. S-VC is a respected organization with a great track record in helping to grow high-technology companies. This investment is a catalyst for introducing our leading-edge design tools in the United States, Asia, and Japan."
According to Horst Gier, general manager of S-VC, "S-VC invested in LISATek because we believe the company has the right combination of technological expertise, business strategy, and high quality products for dramatically improving the design process for electronics companies."
LISATek has also incorporated in Germany as LISATek GmbH, and has opened an office there for research and development and European sales and support.
"The new office is in the technology center in Aachen, Germany, which is ideal for our close working relationship with the Institute for Integrated Signal Processing Systems (ISS) at Aachen University of Technology, directed by professor Heinrich Meyr," said Mayer. "The highly qualified Ph.D.s and masters students at the University bring the right skills to LISATek for the continued development of our technology."
