MARKHAM, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 2002
ATI's next generation graphics was selected to be part of an Intel(R) Xeon(TM) workstation platform technology demonstration at Computex featuring the newly specified Accelerated Graphics Port 8x interface (AGP8x) designed to double the graphics processing bandwidth over today's current AGP4x.
ATI's as-yet-unannounced graphics chip offers advanced, high-performance graphics power for workstations. As a validation partner for AGP8x, ATI's chip is the first to be demonstrated on Intel's future workstation platform based on the Intel Xeon processor family.
"AGP8x will revolutionize the graphics market, and ATI is proud to be an integral part of its public showing," said Rick Bergman, senior vice president, marketing and general manager, Desktop, ATI Technologies Inc. "Appropriately, like Intel's AGP8x workstation platforms, ATI's highly-anticipated next-generation product will bring a new level of 3D realism and killer graphics power to the market."
"ATI's next generation graphics hardware offers a leading platform to showcase this exciting progression in workstation-class graphics technology," said Jason Ziller, technology initiatives manager, Intel Corporation. "Both Intel and ATI are committed to delivering the benefits of AGP8x to our customers."
