Unisys Continues to Strengthen Extensive Security Capabilities and

Consulting Expertise

Unisys Corporation (NYSE:UIS) has hired H. Clayton (Clay) Foushee, Jr., Ph.D., a 23-year transportation industry veteran, to lead the Unisys Transportation Security practice.

Under Foushee's direction, the Unisys Transportation Security practice is building on the early success of Unisys biometric security installations and collaborating with other industry leaders to enhance air travel security. The practice also works closely with U.S. Transportation Security Agency (TSA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) to improve industry information technology.

In his new position with the Unisys Global Transportation team, Foushee is leading and coordinating the transportation airline/airports solutions team and federal and private industry initiatives, in addition to playing a key role in the corporate wide Unisys Security practice.

A consultant specializing in aviation operations, safety and security, Foushee brings extensive personal relationships in industry and government and strategic transportation industry knowledge to Unisys. He most recently served as vice president, Regulatory Affairs and vice president, Flight Operations at Northwest Airlines.

Prior to joining Northwest, Foushee was Chief Scientific and Technical Advisor for Human Factors at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

"Clay's appointment to lead the Transportation Security Practice is a critical asset in the continued success of security technology initiatives within Unisys and the industry-at-large," said Olivier Houri, vice president and general manager, Unisys Global Transportation. "His depth of expertise adds another key dimension to Unisys growth in front-end consulting."

In his executive positions at Northwest Airlines, he was responsible for the coordination of all aspects of regulatory policy with government agencies worldwide and for the operation of Northwest's 400-plus aircraft fleet, respectively.

During his tenure at the FAA, Foushee led a joint effort of the FAA and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), with the Department of Defense (DoD) assistance, to develop and implement a national plan for aviation human factors.

Before working at the FAA, he served as principal scientist of the Crew Research and Space Human Factors Branch at the NASA-Ames Research Center, where he conducted a series of research investigations into the factors that influence crew behavior.

Foushee has published extensively in the aerospace human factors field and has presented at many industry conferences. He was chairman of the Air Transport Association Operations Council and has served on numerous government and industry advisory committees. He is currently a member of the Board of Governors of the Flight Safety Foundation.

Foushee earned a Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Texas and a bachelor's degree magna cum laude from Duke University.

As a leader in transportation security solutions, Unisys brings more than 40 years of experience in aviation-related IT solutions to airlines and airports. In addition, Unisys has provided biometric and personal identification systems to governmental agencies for more than 15 years.

Unisys is leveraging this expertise and its position as a key integrator for the U.S. government to address the aviation security issues facing the industry.
