New Agreement Boosts Academic Accessibility and Promise of Value in
Technology Investments for a Consortium of 13 Community Colleges
In a Rocky Mountain region valued for independence and self-reliance, a consortium of community colleges has enlisted an outside partner to deliver the promise of superior overall value and support for technology investments in higher education.
CollegisEduprise, the leading provider of comprehensive business, technology and curriculum services to higher education, recently added Colorado Community Colleges Online (CCCO) -- a consortium of 13 community colleges with merged learning resources, not all of which are in Colorado -- to the corporation's expanding list of higher education clients.
This joint agreement marks the fifth significant statewide initiative for CollegisEduprise, the others being successful relationships with CalStateTEACH (Calif.), Tennessee Board of Regents, Kentucky Virtual University, and the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges.
The CCCO signing, which highlights support for Web-based coursework, distance learning, and strategic services for online registration and administrative applications, continues a trend toward technology services demand that began late last year, particularly in the Rocky Mountain, Southwest and Western regions of the country.
Just three months ago, CollegisEduprise signed a $26.5 million technology management services agreement with Salt Lake Community College in Utah. That agreement was bracketed by contracts with Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, El Paso Community College and Dallas Baptist University in Texas; Northern Arizona University in Arizona; Loyola Marymount University, Claremont Graduate University and West Hills Community College, all of California; and the Washington State Board.
"Physical location in higher education is not always the most essential element to students," said Bob Norden, chief operating officer of Colorado Community Colleges Online. "In today's competitive academic market, accessibility, value and quality of education take on added importance, as students look for online solutions to meet their educational needs. CollegisEduprise will deliver some of the essential ingredients for our rapidly growing programs."
An example of positive return on investment (ROI) comes from another CollegisEduprise consortium client, Tennessee Board of Regents, which dramatically increased statewide learner enrollments from 300 to 3,600 within nine months through the TBR-Regents Online Degrees Programs (RODP). CollegisEduprise assisted with the marketing and business plans of RODP, which also generated more than $1.5 million in tuition and fees for Tennessee Board of Regents, while expanding student access among rural Tennesseans through the export of quality educational degree programs in an online environment.
By combining resources through a common technology services provider, consortiums and individual institutions benefit from expertise and economies of scale within a competitive college and university environment.
"Our comprehensive learning technology services are designed to provide measurable success and return on investment, focused on the unique mission of each client," said Rob Abel, senior vice president of Business Development for CollegisEduprise. "We will apply our significant experience in jump-starting statewide e-Education initiatives in this exciting partnership."
CollegisEduprise, based in suburban Orlando, has more than 110 college and university clients nationwide, more than half of which are community colleges. Other Colorado clients include Community College of Denver and Regis University.
