"Our goal is to raise over $250,000 from the online and live auctions for the 51 works that are available for bidding," said King.

Painted horses include the patriotic, "Old Glory" which is draped in Stars and Stripes and aged to provide an antique wooden horse-look to the whimsical "Horsefly" which is covered with 36 varieties of butterflies, and was painted by a former art director of Shoebox Greetings, a tiny division of Hallmark.
