The initial motherboards offered in the new cases provide users the opportunity to reap the benefits of cutting-edge technological advancements in processor, memory, and chipset architecture, including speeds of 2.2GHz and higher. The new systems are designed for high-end multimedia content creation, CAD or CAM applications that are memory bandwidth intensive, or for anyone desiring fast, no-wait computing.
The Athena, measuring 17-inch x 7.5-inch x 18-inch (HxWxD), features three 5.25-inch external drive bays for easy addition of CD, DVD, and CDRW drives, two 3.5-inch external drive bays for floppy and zip drive installation, two 3.5-inch internal drive bays for hard disk drives, and 300W power supply.
The beige color-scheme with non-protruding rounded corners and front bezel give the Athena a professional look and make it a superior complement to any office, school, or home environment while providing durable protection for internal components. Side rails slide off easily, making access simple and quick.
Located on the front panel are connectors for two USB peripherals, one microphone and one headphone. The Athena also provides four USB 12Mbps ports, two ATA-100 IDE bus-mastering channels and integrated AC97 audio.
The Proteus ultra-compact PC in the micro ATX form factor measures just 5.5-inches x 13-inches x 13-inches (WxHxD) in the convertible desktop or midtower case. The Proteus is a powerful small form factor PC for users with limited desk space, yet requiring a fast CPU and DDR memory. The front panel chassis features two USB, one microphone, one headphone connector and the system has a 200W power supply.
Integrated features include AC97 audio and 10/100Mbps LAN for quick connections to existing networks.
"Both the Athena and smaller Proteus PCs provide excellent means of achieving performance rivaling Rambus PC800 supported systems, with much more affordable price tags," said Lili Yu, Premio product manager. "Users who create multimedia and complex graphics will find either unit an ideal solution for upgrading their system while offering expandable flexibility for future needs."
Premio offers toll-free technical support, a 3-year limited warranty (2-year limited warranty on motherboard) and full documentation available on the Premio Web site: www.premiopc.com.
