PaeTec Executive Vice President Named CompTel Vice Chairman/Treasurer

PaeTec Corp., a holding company whose principal subsidiary is PaeTec Communications, Inc., an integrated communications provider, today announced that Joseph Ambersley, PaeTec Communications' Executive Vice President of Business Development was elected as Vice Chairman/Treasurer of the Competitive Telecommunications Association (CompTel).
CompTel is a principal association in the competitive telecommunications industry and represents companies in almost every facet of the telecom arena including incumbent local exchange carriers, competitive local exchange carriers, long distance carriers, wireless service providers, Internet service providers, equipment manufacturers and software suppliers. The election took place last week at CompTel's 21st Annual Convention and Trade Exposition in Miami, Florida.
CompTel is governed by an 18-member Board of Directors directly elected by the membership at its annual meeting with six Board members each elected from small, medium and large-sized companies. Ambersley was elected for a one-year term as Vice Chairman/Treasurer as well as being re-elected to the Board representing the medium-sized company category. This category reflects companies generating annual revenues between $25 and $250 million.
Ambersley has served as one of PaeTec's Executive Vice Presidents since June of 1998 and was appointed to his current position as Executive Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions in April of 2000. For seven years prior to joining PaeTec, Ambersley functioned as Vice President of Carrier Sales at National Telecommunications of Florida. Ambersley has served on several association boards, including America's Carriers Telecommunications Association and the Associated Communication Companies of America.
