SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 2002

ObjectVenture Inc., developer of PCML (Pattern and Component Markup Language) and a premier provider of leading edge Java(TM) 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE(TM)) development products, today announced that it will demonstrate the integration of its ObjectAssembler technology with Sun Microsystems' Forte(TM) for Java(TM) integrated development environment (IDE) at the JavaOne(SM) Developer Conference in the Forte for Java pavilion (booth #2341). ObjectVenture's ObjectAssembler extends the Forte for Java product to provide customers with a simplified and accelerated means for development and deployment of J2EE applications.

In addition, ObjectVenture has joined the Forte for Java Extension Partner Program, providing the company with an introduction to one of the largest Java technology communities. The program assists independent software vendors (ISVs) in extending the Forte for Java IDE with complementary products, providing customers with a broader choice of innovative technologies that build on the core product.

"ObjectVenture has been a leading innovator in developing products that simplify the development of J2EE technology applications," said Arthur Gould, Senior Manager, Strategic Relations at Sun Microsystems, Inc.. "Their latest product, ObjectAssembler, brings that expertise to Java language developers through a software suite that will save developers time and effort. We welcome ObjectVenture's support of the Forte for Java community, which is a destination for developers who value innovation and productivity."

ObjectAssembler is a comprehensive J2EE software development environment, which provides seamless support for the design, implementation, assembly, and deployment of J2EE applications. By simplifying the development of sophisticated enterprise applications and Web services through visual representations of patterns, components, and assemblies, and automation of many tedious, complicated, and error-prone implementation tasks, ObjectAssembler transforms the traditional integrated development environment into an efficient, streamlined development system. Developers using ObjectAssembler are allowed to focus fully on creating business logic to solve their unique business challenges rather than being preoccupied by the details and minutia of the underlying infrastructure. ObjectAssembler offers complete support for J2EE's component-based architecture and comes integrated with both the Sun Java Center Design Patterns Catalog and Apache's Jakarta Struts Framework.

"We selected Sun's Forte for Java product because of its powerful extensible architecture and the high quality of the code," said Dana Kaufman, president of ObjectVenture. "We are pleased to join forces with Sun and make ObjectAssembler's powerful feature set available for Forte developers, and will have ObjectAssembler on the Forte platform available for demo at JavaOne."
