SonicXQ Selected for Ease of Management, Support For Web Services and
J2EE Connector Architecture (JCA) by
Leading Mobile Telecommunications Provider
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 25, 2002
Sonic Software, the world's fastest growing Internet middleware company, today announced that Sonera Juxto, a subsidiary of Sonera Corporation (HEX: SRA, NASDAQ: SNRA), a leading Finnish-based provider of mobile and advanced telecommunications services, has selected SonicXQ(TM) to integrate its Juxto Fleetware, a messaging service that links mobile personnel and vehicles to company databases. Sonic is first to market with an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB): a standards-based service-oriented architecture for integrating enterprise applications and business partners. The SonicXQ ESB provides Sonera Juxto's customers with the ability to easily integrate mobile devices with enterprise infrastructure using Web services and the J2EE(TM) Connector Architecture (JCA).
Sonera Juxto will utilize SonicXQ to deliver mobile data services for its customers via an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) architecture. The SonicXQ ESB provides Sonera Juxto with standards-based integration that reliably and securely connects packaged and homegrown applications and databases with the mobile network. SonicXQ delivers the distributed processing required to orchestrate the interaction of services within Sonera Juxto's mobile network. These services include content based routing and the process management needed to perform impedance matching between disparate XML formats--such as those used by mobile devices and those used by customers' enterprise systems. SonicXQ's distributed processing and patent-pending Dynamic Routing Architecture(TM) (DRA) allow Sonera Juxto to more easily manage a large-scale mobile network with multiple endpoints.
"SonicXQ will enable Sonera Juxto Fleetware to compete more effectively by reducing the high cost of back-end integration with customer's enterprise systems," said Ari Sandstedt, director of Service Development, Sonera Juxto. "SonicXQ's standards-based approach allows Sonera Juxto's mobile services to integrate easily, reducing costs and enabling new applications to be rapidly incorporated into the enterprise bus."
Sonic's standards-based approach to distributed integration affords an effective alternative to typical, more costly implementations such as integration brokers and application servers. SonicXQ increases business agility by making it easy for organizations to incorporate new applications into the bus, while providing the scalability required to support large-scale deployments.
"Leading mobile telecommunications companies have selected Sonic's products to help them deliver better services through lower overall costs and increased ease of integration," said Greg O'Connor, president of Sonic Software. "SonicXQ also extends reliability and security to distributed service-oriented architectures--including Web services implementations--through a proven and widely adopted communications backbone."
