Joe Bellini and Larry Alston to Join Panels

Addressing the Business and Technical Benefits

of the Sun ONE Architecture and Sun's Services on Demand Strategy

eXcelon Corporation (Nasdaq: EXLN) today announced that CEO Joe Bellini and EVP of Product Management Larry Alston will join a group of industry luminaries at the JavaOne Conference to examine the business and technical benefits of building and deploying applications on the Sun ONE architecture. The Sun ONE at JavaOne executive briefing is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on March 27, 2002 at the San Francisco Marriot Yerba Buena Ballroom.

The Sun ONE at JavaOne executive briefing will consist of two panels, both geared toward senior executives. Joe Bellini will join the business track, which will cover business analysis and return on investment of service-based applications developed and deployed using the Sun ONE architecture.

Larry Alston will join a technical panel that will focus on mapping specific Java(TM) architectural implementations and services on demand standards such as SOAP, WSDL, and UDDI into business solutions.

"eXcelon's experience in providing mid-tier data management for XML and Java assets will play a key role in helping Sun customers build a service on demand environment," said Laura Clayton, Senior Director, iPlanet Market Development for Sun Microsystems. "We are excited about having Joe and Larry on our panels to discuss how customers can build, deploy and capitalize on services and their encapsulated application components built on the Sun ONE architecture."

"We believe that Sun ONE is an excellent platform for building Web Services applications and are privileged to be part of this executive briefing," said Joe Bellini, CEO, eXcelon. "Furthermore, we are excited to work with Sun to help companies build a service on demand environment using XML and Java that will reduce information latency and create the business flexibility needed to win in today's business climate."

Sun ONE is Sun's standards-based software architecture, vision, products and expertise for building and deploying services on demand. The services on demand model promises better cross-business integration and improved cost efficiencies for greater ROI, and closer customer relationships for maximizing current revenue streams.
