Connected(TM) Corporation, the market-leading provider of PC data protection and management solutions, today introduced the Connected TLM Small Business Service. The new offering is a customized version of its award-winning Connected TLM software, which is designed to provide small businesses with enterprise-class data protection while delivering the ease-of-deployment and functionality they require. The Connected TLM Small Business Service contains Connected's proven, easy-to-use Backup/Retrieve, Heal and iRoam modules for comprehensive data protection, and anytime, anywhere restoration and recovery. Small businesses can learn more about, purchase and download the software at: http://www.connected.com/howtobuy/smbusiness/index.htm.
> Connected Corporation's software is used by 400 of the world's largest corporations, including Cisco Systems, Compaq, EMC, GAP, Goodrich and Hewlett-Packard, to ensure the security and availability of their PC-based corporate information. Information protected with the Connected TLM Small Business Service will be securely stored and encrypted in Connected's mirrored data centers to ensure maximum availability for users."Small businesses have the same data protection needs as a Fortune 1000 company, but have often been overlooked and forced to use data protection measures that either have more functionality than they need or were designed for individual consumers," said Fred Broussard, senior analyst with IDC. "An offering like the Connected TLM Small Business Service addresses their specific needs and gives them the level of data protection they deserve."
Along with the service, technical staff can take advantage of a special Web-based management solution to help them deploy, maintain and deliver easy-to-use and affordable PC data protection, PC management and automated self-healing capabilities to their PC users.
The Connected TLM Small Business Service includes:
-- Backup/Retrieve -- Files and applications on individual PCs,
from Word documents and Excel spreadsheets to custom wallpaper
settings, are automatically backed-up. The system minimizes,
then efficiently transmits and stores the data on a central
server. Then, drawing on the most recent data capture, all PC
data can be completely restored via the retrieve
functionality.
The service uses Delta Block(TM) technology to back up only
the changed portion of each file, and SendOnce to only send
files the system has never before encountered, reducing the
session time on even a dial-up line to just minutes.
-- Heal -- Automated, online PC self-healing eliminates application, registry and system configuration problems due to viruses, file or application corruption and even user error, in real-time. -- iRoam -- With iRoam, users have access to their PC data anywhere, anytime via any Web browser, even if they don't have their PCs. A user can log on to the secure Connected site and access all the files that have been captured from their PC. -- Support Center -- Unique to the TLM Small Business Service, the Web-based Support Center enables small businesses to handle all technical administration online. Via the Support Center, administrators can update and view PC account usage, history and configuration with just a few clicks of the mouse.
"Data protection and disaster recovery capabilities are vital best practices for businesses, regardless of their size," said Bob Brennan, CEO of Connected Corporation. "The Connected TLM Small Business Service makes it easy for companies with five to 200 PCs to focus on their core competencies, knowing that their important data is protected and always available."
"I've been raving about the Connected TLM Service to my colleagues and clients since I first tried it," said Jeremy Shapiro, founder, Asandia Corporation. "As a personal testimonial, I recently had a hard drive fail, swapped my drive out, reinstalled and recovered my data flawlessly using Connected TLM. The Connected TLM Small Business Service will be a high-value solution for smaller companies that want enterprise-class PC data protection."
