COLUMBUS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 29, 2002
Aelita Software Corporation, a leading provider of enterprise management solutions for Windows-centric networks, today announced the expansion of its corporate headquarters and the opening of its first European office.
Aelita, which saw revenues increase by 148 percent last year, moved into new corporate offices at 6500 Emerald Parkway in Columbus, Ohio on March 18. The move provides the company with almost twice the square footage of its previous offices and was made necessary by 100 percent growth in staff over the last 12 months.
At the same time, Aelita opened its first European office in Reading, United Kingdom, and announced its intention to open a second European office in Germany. The company named Malcolm Etchells as managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Etchells will establish and oversee a sales and service structure to accelerate the company's international growth.
The European offices enable Aelita to strengthen its position in Europe and the surrounding regions and provide enhanced support to multinational customers. The company counts Unilever, Pfizer, and Siemens among its European customer base.
"Our parallel expansion in the United States and Europe results from the strength of our technology and our comprehensive solutions," said Ratmir Timashev, president and chief executive officer of Aelita Software. "We have focused on developing solutions that provide superior performance in our customers' environments, while also fulfilling customer service and support requirements. Our new moves will enable us to reach more potential customers and enhance the service we provide to existing customers."
"Aelita has had excellent success in Europe based on the superiority of our technology," Etchells added. "As we strengthen the sales and service infrastructure in this region, we will build on that success and establish Aelita as a leader in Windows-centric systems management."
Prior to joining Aelita, Etchells served as regional director, Central Europe, for the Santa Cruz Operation. He has also held various sales and marketing positions for Olivetti. He will be based in the U.K. office, located at 200 Brook Drive, Green Park, Reading.
