NFuse Elite will offer customers a simple, powerful and cost-effective alternative to standard corporate portals requiring extensive services and customization. The new product will extend the Citrix-powered virtual workplace by providing secure, role-based access to Web applications, content and services, Windows(R), and UNIX(R) applications, and corporate databases and repositories.
In conjunction with the NFuse Elite technology preview, Citrix will be providing additional Content Delivery Agents (CDAs), Web-based applications that "snap" into a user's NFuse Elite portal, enabling the seamless integration between best-of-breed applications and content feeds and the portal. In addition, Citrix(R) NFuse Elite also supports other industry-standard portal application integration formats, such as Microsoft(R) Web Parts, expanding the range of applications and content that can be rapidly accessed through NFuse Elite.
"NFuse Elite addresses a need in the marketplace for thousands of customers who want a portal server that is flexible enough to scale with their organization, but without the complexity and costs associated with typical enterprise portal implementations," said Bob Kruger, Citrix senior vice president, product development and chief technology officer. "Offering our channel and development partners the opportunity to preview the product allows them to get comfortable with the technology, and lets customers evaluate the solution before it's available."
"Our customers see the value in a portal server that can be deployed quickly, providing them with the productivity gains and competitive advantage they desire, without the long integration cycle and costly professional services they want to avoid," said Tom Bunch, senior vice president and business development officer, Vector ESP, a Citrix Platinum reseller. "We're looking forward to Citrix's upcoming release of NFuse Elite and believe it will be an outstanding addition to their virtual workplace solutions suite."
Registration for the NFuse Elite technical preview is now available at http://www.citrix.com/nfuse_elite. Qualified participants will receive access to the product download and an FAQ with information on installation, training and support in April 2002.
