Empirix Appoints Joe Alwan as Vice President Business Development; Enterprise Technology Solution Veteran Tapped to Build Strategic Partnerships

Empirix Inc., the leading provider of test and monitoring solutions for Web, voice and network applications, today announced the appointment of Joe Alwan as vice president of business development. Alwan brings extensive business development expertise from enterprise technology firms, most recently serving at Open Market and Sun Microsystems. He is responsible for strategic partnering including building and managing alliances that strengthen customer channels and complement the value of Empirix testing and monitoring solutions.

Alwan brings to Empirix an 18-year high technology background in business development, marketing, sales, and customer support for enterprise technology solutions. Alwan previously served as senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Open Market, where he led channel and strategic partner programs and M&A initiatives with many high profile hardware and software providers. Prior to Open Market, Alwan was director of global partners for Sun Microsystems, where he managed the company's top software partnerships and was instrumental in significantly increasing revenue and market position. Alwan began his career at Hewlett-Packard where he helped develop the company's UNIX server strategy. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from University of Illinois.
