Global marketing alliance allows secure sharing of vital corporate

information among peers in and across global enterprises

Endeavors Technology, Inc., the peer-to-peer (P2P) secure web collaboration company of Tadpole Technology plc (LSE:TAD), and AltaVista Software(TM), a division of AltaVista Company, a majority-owned operating company of CMGI (Nasdaq:CMGI), today jointly announced a global marketing agreement.

The agreement pairs AltaVista Software's powerful enterprise search functionality with Endeavors' award-winning Magi P2P technology to enable secure information-sharing within the global enterprise and across enterprise boundaries. The combined offering allows vital corporate information to be located and shared among disparate data sources in an enterprise-computing environment.

Under terms of the agreement, AltaVista and Endeavors will market Endeavors' Magi Enterprise 3.0 P2P web collaboration software as a complementary product to AltaVista Software Enterprise Search application. With the complementary solutions, a user's personal desktop has secure access to all indexed corporate data and information across peer-networked communities on other PC's within and beyond the enterprise, including intermittently-connected personal devices.

The combined technologies maintain seamless support of privacy and confidentiality while granting access to content and indices according to pre-established parameters determined by the enterprise. Additionally, the collaborative application delivers sophisticated indexing functionality that organizes structured and unstructured data from diverse file formats and multiple sources, including enterprise data repositories, personal computing devices, the Internet and corporate intranet pages.

"The teaming of Endeavors and AltaVista Software takes information accessibility to its next level by providing a truly universal view of information," said Phil Rugani, executive vice president, AltaVista Software division. "This relationship pairs AltaVista Software's core information retrieval capabilities with a P2P framework to extend a secure search of all information assets in a corporate network irrespective of the device, file, format or location."

"Endeavors' joint offering with AltaVista Software overcomes the barriers of full corporate searching to support appropriate access to valuable information within and across corporations," said Bernard Hulme, chairman and CEO of Endeavors Technology. "Together, our technologies offer corporate and end user advantages to productivity and expanded search. Endeavors' strong security gives users back their privacy and confidentiality while allowing the corporation to benefit from their previously untapped information assets using AltaVista Software's industry-leading ranking and relevancy solution. This combined with a Web-based peer-to-peer architecture vastly extends the reach of workers across enterprises to quickly index, search, and discover files securely with near zero administration."

Real World Value -- Endeavors' Magi Enterprise 3.0

Magi Enterprise 3.0, an award-winning P2P collaboration system, transforms today's Web into a highly secure inter- and intra-enterprise collaboration network. For the first time, enterprises can implement ad-hoc Virtual Private Networks for collaboration very rapidly and affordably without disrupting existing applications, networks or work practices. Magi Enterprise 3.0 does this by effectively transforming unsecured, "read-only" Web networks into two-way trusted and transparent collaboration environments, through the use of such features as cross-firewall connections, advanced data extraction, a new intuitive graphical interface and universal name spaces generating "follow me URLs" for mobile professionals.

Magi Enterprise 3.0 enables business users to leverage the Web for collaboration within and across enterprises for such activities as supply chain and distribution channel management, and customer relationship management. These products bridge the gap left by unsecured email, which is routinely used to share proprietary documents and the high overheads and time associated with designing, managing and using secure portals. Key to accomplishing this are easy-to-use collaboration functions integrated into existing enterprise and desktop applications. Using Magi Enterprise 3.0, business professionals can securely access, share and act upon critical information over any wired or wireless connection, using any device as a full "peer" on the Web-based network.

Collaboration Software -- Market Estimate, Analyst Quote

The market for secure collaborative commerce systems is expected to grow to $36 billion by 2004 according to Salomon Smith Barney.

Robin Bloor, founder and CEO of Bloor Research, comments: "With Magi, Endeavors is defining the productive potential of collaboration technology for the business world. The product is comprehensive, versatile and easy to adopt -- and it has a wide area of application. We expect to see Magi become a leading product in the rapidly emerging market for collaboration technology."
