SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 7, 2002
iJET(R) Travel Intelligence(R) has won the Gold award from the 2001 Global Excellence Awards for innovation and excellence in workflow implementations based on its inventive application of Fujitsu Software Corporation's i-Flow Business Process Management engine in providing up-to-the-minute travel information to the travel industry worldwide. Jointly sponsored by the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC), Giga Information Group and Workflow and Reengineering International Association (WARIA), the Awards were announced yesterday at the AIIM 2002 Conference and Exposition. AIIM 2002, the premier enterprise content management industry event, runs through March 8 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
iJET Travel Intelligence, the first intelligence organization for the global travel industry, embedded i-Flow(TM) Business Process Management engine in its Intelligence Production System. iJET selected i-Flow to create, streamline and automate its intelligence creation process, ensuring that all editorial and approval guidelines are followed and that the final Travel Intelligence product is in the hands of customers where it can help them avoid travel problems. The combined products provide a continual stream of updates that reflect the latest traveler information from more than 5,000 sources worldwide on topics ranging from health, security and transportation to entry/exit rules and communications.
"iJET's case study illustrates the three areas that we look for in a workflow application: innovation, impact and implementation," said Layna Fischer, Awards Director and General Manager of WfMC. "The combined i-Flow/iJET solution is an excellent example of using best-in-class Business Process Management and integrated travel information to provide up-to-the-minute travel intelligence for the global travel industry."
i-Flow is the first Java-based and only 100% browser-based Business Process Management solution. iJET's premier service, WorldcueProTM, provides travel agents, corporate security directors, corporate travel planners and human resources professionals with the latest travel information. WorldcueTraveler(TM) provides travelers with a personalized Travel Intelligence Report and e-mail and wireless travel alert services.
"When we considered how to most effectively build WorldcuePro(TM) and WorldcueTraveler(TM) and best serve our customers, the workflow engine choice was critical," said Greg Meyer, Chief Technology Officer at iJET. "The flexibility and openness of i-Flow allows us to meet our goal of providing integrated, high quality Travel Intelligence(R) 24/7/365. It is the engine that drives our business processes."
"i-Flow was designed to be embedded in Web-centric applications, enabling independent software vendors to launch products to market faster," said Paula Negron, Product Manager for i-Flow. "It took iJET just three months to bring the i-Flow powered application to production. Overall, i-Flow empowers enterprises to automate and manage changing business processes while reducing their operating expenses, improving productivity, efficiency and time-to-market. It is an honor to be recognized by the Workflow Management International Association, Giga Information Group and Workflow and Reengineering International Association for our advanced BPM technology and innovative implementation with iJET."
