ION Networks Appoints New VPs of Strategic Alliances and Engineering; Industry Veterans To Lead Revenue Generation and Product Development Efforts

ION Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: IONN), a leading provider of security and management solutions that protect critical infrastructure from internal and external security threats, today announced the appointment of T. Robert (Bob) Snyder as Vice President of Strategic Alliances and William (Bill) Whitney as Chief Architect and Vice President of Engineering.

With 25 years of experience in sales and marketing, Bob Snyder joins ION Networks as a Vice President of Strategic Alliances, and will be responsible for further developing and leveraging the company's strategic alliances in order to drive increasing sales through channels. Prior to joining ION, Mr. Snyder served as Senior Vice President - Sales & Marketing for Sphera Optical Networks, a New York-based network provider. Prior to joining Sphera, he was responsible for business development and distribution channels at Avesta Technologies, a leading IT service management company. Before joining Avesta, Mr. Snyder spent twenty years with AT&T with various responsibilities in sales, marketing and operations. Mr. Snyder holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Lehigh University and a Masters of Science degree from Texas A&M University.
Bill Whitney brings over 20 years of system architecture experience in the networking industry to his position as Chief Architect and Vice President of Engineering. He will guide the development of ION's IONSecure products and future architectures. Most recently, Mr. Whitney served as the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Outercurve Technologies, a multi-platform rapid application development tool provider for wireless applications, where he was responsible for building the development team, establishing the overall core system architecture, leading the development of the core technology projects, and building outside technology relationships. From 1983 to 1998, Bill served as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of MicroFrame Inc., ION's predecessor company. Mr. Whitney attended Columbia University School of Engineering.
