Personalized Portal Solution Developed By Context Integration
to Help APQC Cost-Effectively Attract, Support, and Retain Members
ATG(R) (Art Technology Group, Inc., Nasdaq: ARTG), a leading developer of online CRM applications for commerce, portals, and relationship management, today announced that the American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC), a member-based nonprofit resource serving approximately 500 organizations around the world, has launched the first phase of its member portal, known as the Knowledge Sharing Network(TM)(KSN). Developed by ATG partner Context Integration, the portal was built with the ATG Enterprise Portal Suite to provide a new channel for APQC to cost-effectively support its mission of information dissemination and knowledge sharing among business leaders.
The portal is personalized to registered users so that APQC can share best practices, discover effective methods of business improvement, acquire research findings, and connect with one another. The portal also utilizes Scenario Personalization from the ATG relationship management framework to provide a highly visual way for non-technical staff to define how and when the portal provides targeted and personalized information to users.
"We worked closely with Context Integration to develop a strategy to best utilize the Web to improve member services," said Farida Hasanali, program manager of the Knowledge Sharing Network. "By deploying the ATG Enterprise Portal Suite, we have extensive personalization and portal capabilities to accomplish our goals. For the first phase, we have been able to keep our integration and development costs down and we expect to continue to see cost savings as we continue to develop and improve our portal offering."
The portal utilizes the community management and pre-built, extensible membership models of the ATG Enterprise Portal Suite. In fact, APQC had two communities up and running within an hour. Community features utilized include calendaring and discussion threads to help members connect and share knowledge in an efficient way. Additionally, APQC has custom-developed a commerce application on the ATG platform to allow customers to conveniently purchase the organization's research findings.
"Working with our partners, such as Context Integration, we help customers utilize online CRM applications to accomplish business objectives in a cost-effective way. This announcement is synergistic with the results of the report handed down from the Labor Department this week and the 25 percent attribution to IT in the overall increase in productivity," said Matt Price, vice president of the portal business line, ATG. "The ATG Enterprise Portal Suite has created another way for APQC to better serve its customers to help maintain and grow its client base."
APQC is also using portal analytics to measure the effectiveness of the portal components, from community to content. Analytics capabilities provide the hard numbers that business managers need to show how customers use the portal in order to refine the user experience and maximize return on investment. For APQC, it also helps demonstrate the value that clients realize by using the member portal to access value-add information.
"In addition to the functionality already developed, the extensibility of the ATG relationship management framework will enable us to build new initiatives for the next phases of the APQC portal," said Jack Chaston, client manager at Context Integration. "The success of this deployment is a testament to the functionality of ATG applications and our dedication to client services."
