HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 22, 2002

On behalf of the Process & Power Client Community, the Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore division of Intergraph Corporation (Nasdaq:INGR) presented more than $4,000 (U.S.) in cash prizes to the creators of winning entries in the Golden Valve Awards computer graphics competition. Beverly Staley, vice president of Global Marketing, Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore, introduced the winners and distributed the awards at a ceremony held here today as the International Process & Power 2002 conference concluded.

Showcasing Customer Expertise

The Golden Valve competition showcases the expertise of customers using Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore software including SmartPlant(R) Review and PDS(TM). Award winners receive international recognition for entries, which are often published in industry magazines and appear in the division's marketing materials and on its Web site. High-resolution, print quality images of the winning entries are available to editors and art directors of industry print and Web publications. Best of Show winner, the Engineering Automation Team, Hyundai Engineering Co., Korea, received $1,000 and a free conference registration for the entry, "South Pars Phase 2 & 3 Animation," a 3D animation illustrating offshore gas production facilities in the Persian Gulf.

Rodrigo Moralez, Setal Engenharia e Construcoes, Brazil, won first place in the Animation category with "Blast Furnace Animation" and received $750 and free conference registration. Second place winner, Ian Church, Mitsui Babcock Energy Ltd., United Kingdom, received $300 for "Horizontal Once-through Boiler Animation."

In the Rendering category, Randy Carbone, Parsons Corp., United States, first place winner, received $750 and free conference registration for the entry, "Offshore Gas Rig."

Second place Rendering category winners included Seon-Young Choi, Samsung Engineering Co. Ltd., Korea, whose entry, "Ulsan LPG Plant" tied with "Typical Six-drum Coker" by John A. Palmer, Foster Wheeler USA, United States. Each received a $300 prize.

Receiving $150 for third place in the Rendering competition was Erasmo Honorio da Silva, Setal Engenharia e Construcoes, Brazil, for the entry "Lighting Study."

Honorable Mentions included Changjae Lee, Sehwan Ham and Taejin Chung, Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd., Korea, for "Termonorte Phase II Power Plant" and Silvano Baron Espinosa, Lockwood Greene de Mexico S.A. de C.V., Mexico, for "Pumping Station."

In the Graphic Arts category, Kazuhito Kobayashi, EBARA Corp. Ltd., Japan, received $750 and free conference registration for the first place entry, "Refuse Treatment Plant." Second place winner, Vadapalli Lakshmi Ganesh, Mitsui Babcock Energy India Ltd., India, received $150 for "Utility Boiler Steam Drum and Interconnecting Pipe."

Entries Judged on Aesthetic, Technical Aspects

A panel of experts judged each entry on a variety of criteria, such as design and technique; technical use of software and system capabilities; innovative and imaginative use of Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore software; and aesthetic screen display or plot of the finished art including composition, layout and use of color.

The Golden Valve Award continues the tradition of the former Intergraph Graphics Users Group (IGUG) Golden Mouse Award.

Prizes Awarded at Process & Power International Conference

Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore displayed the Golden Valve entries and announced the contest winners at International Process & Power 2002. Some 450 customers, prospects, exhibitors and others from around the world participated in the event. The second annual conference included management track and technical sessions as well as keynote and plenary addresses, exhibits, special events, new product introductions and technology previews of Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore software.
