Midway Games Inc. (NYSE:MWY), a leading software industry publisher and developer, announced today its videogame lineup for next-generation game systems at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) at the Los Angeles Convention Center, May 22-24, 2002.

MORTAL KOMBAT(R): DEADLY ALLIANCE(TM)

Mortal Kombat(R): Deadly Alliance(TM) marks the re-launch of the Mortal Kombat series with a lethal dose of unparalleled brutality, supernatural mystique and a reinvented fighting system that will redefine the fighting game genre. This next-generation take on the multi-million unit selling franchise features progressive physical damage that allows players to view the inevitable demise of their opponents while utilizing three unique fighting styles for each warrior, creating nearly unlimited fighting possibilities. Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is scheduled to ship fall 2002 for the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox(TM) video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube(TM) and Game Boy(R) Advance.

HAVEN: CALL OF THE KING(TM)

Haven: Call Of The King(TM) is the first game to transcend the boundaries of interactive technology and immerse gamers in a world seemingly without limitations. Haven: Call Of The King unveils an epic tale of exploration and intrigue as the hero, Haven single-handedly battles the enslavement of his people by the evil tyrant Lord Vetch. Derived from revolutionary technology including fully open, real-time worlds, Haven: Call Of The King combines the fluid integration of third-person and vehicular gameplay mechanics with the ability to explore spectacular cinematic quality world environments -- from abysmal caves and eerie castles to stations in outer space. Gamers can seamlessly transition between walking or driving using unique fantasy vehicles throughout a fluid mix of gameplay styles including platforming, turret-based shooting, boat and land vehicular racing, arena combat and space exploration. Players take a ride on the wild side in true Freaky Flyers fashion as they embark on a twisted flight adventure. Freaky Flyers is packed with a cast of 13 intriguing, witty and outrageous characters whose stories intricately intertwine and play out against the backdrop of more than 25 dynamic and completely interactive 3-D environments. Freaky Flyers is in development and scheduled to ship fall 2002 for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and Nintendo GameCube.

DR. MUTO(TM)

In Dr. Muto(TM), an all-new 3-D action-adventure videogame, players take on the personality of a proverbial "mad scientist," whose latest experiment accidentally destroyed his home planet, except for his laboratory. With his ingenious morphing technology, Dr. Muto hopes to rebuild his destroyed world by combining with living organisms in order to accomplish tasks no human could achieve -- such as clinging to webs as a mutant spider or squeezing into tight spaces as a mutant mouse. As Dr. Muto, players harvest resources from 22 vast levels on four distinct planetscapes while encountering dangerous challenges, freakish monstrosities, and battling Muto's arch nemesis, the evil Professor Burnitall. Dr. Muto is in development and scheduled to ship in fall 2002 for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, with the Nintendo GameCube version to follow in winter 2002.

DEFENDER(R)

Prepare for an out-of-this-world 3-D flying experience with the remake of Defender(R) -- the ultimate action-and-strategy videogame. In Defender, players must defend and protect the human race from an alien invasion as they assume the controls of next-generation combat-ready Defender ships. Battling an onslaught of vicious aliens, players strategically pilot their ship through more than 14 treacherous missions spanning the solar system, executing dynamic tactical maneuvers such as barrel rolls, 360-degree loops and spinning reversals in order to evade the enemy. Defender(R) is under development by 7 Studios and scheduled to ship fall 2002 for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy(R) Advance.

LEGION: THE LEGEND OF EXCALIBUR(TM)

Legion: The Legend of Excalibur(TM) features an intense, "never-been-done-before" mixture of strategy, role-playing and action gameplay. Players take direct control of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, leading legions of men into dynamic battlefield environments. Battling through 13 in-depth missions, players must find and recruit the eight Knights of the Round Table, while Merlin provides background and insight to aid in uniting Camelot. Legion: The Legend of Excalibur is under development by 7 Studios and scheduled to ship in spring 2002 for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system.
