HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 22, 2002
To commemorate its launch and to welcome members to the organization, the Texas Hedge Fund Association (THFA)(www.texashfa.org) hosted an informal reception at the Hotel Crescent Court in Dallas last week. Expecting a crowd of 100 people to attend, the reception drew well over 200 participants from Dallas, Houston and Austin, Texas, as well as New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Phoenix and Oklahoma City surpassing all expectations.
Launched on April 29th, the THFA evoked an excellent response from the Texas investment community. The announcement was picked up by major news services and the most prominent hedge fund community Web sites in the U.S.A. and in Europe. The THFA occasion in Dallas was generously sponsored by board members Sam Hocking of Bank of America Securities and Eliot Raffkind of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld. Also contributing was Kelly Easterling and Marc Wolf of Rothstein, Kass and Company.
"The terrific attendance was due in part to the strong board but also as a testament to the fact that there is a great need for this association in Texas and the Southwest," said THFA board chairman Christopher Alan Zook. "Some of the most prominent and influential participants in the Texas hedge fund industry and investor community were present."
The Dallas occasion presented an opportunity to meet the most senior participants within the investment and hedge fund community of Texas in an informal environment and learn more about the educational, networking and representative benefits of membership in the Texas Hedge Fund Association.
Understanding that some in the hedge fund community in Texas and throughout the Southwest will have questions concerning this new organization, all interested parties who would like to learn more about the THFA are encouraged to visit the association Web site at www.texashfa.org. There, visitors will find biographies of the THFA's board of directors and its officers, details about membership and will have the ability to join online -- quickly and easily.
