Amdocs Flash Cut Conversion Successfully Migrates More than 2.3
Million VimpelCom Subscribers
Open Joint Stock Company "Vimpel-Communications" ("VimpelCom") (NYSE: VIP), a leading provider of telecommunications services in Russia, and Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the world's leading provider of billing and customer relationship management to the communications industry, announced the successful launch of Amdocs Ensemble billing platform at VimpelCom.
Amdocs provides VimpelCom with a complete convergent billing solution for all voice and data services. More than 2.3 million of VimpelCom's Moscow-based prepaid and postpaid subscribers were migrated from VimpelCom's legacy billing system to Amdocs Ensemble.
"Our subscriber base has more than doubled over the past year, demonstrating our high quality of service and commitment towards the delivery of innovative mobile, voice and data services," said Jere Calmes, Vice President of Customers Operations and Product Management at VimpelCom. "Our partnership with Amdocs and its scalability and flexibility enables us to have a long-term customer care and billing solution that is designed to support our growth as we expand our operations throughout Russia."
The Amdocs Ensemble billing and customer care system deployed at VimpelCom is comprised of over 15 software modules, providing advanced billing and customer relationship management capabilities. This system supports the rapid deployment of advanced next generation data services, such as online stock quotes, traffic reports and entertainment services using mobile devices, and was instrumental in enabling VimpelCom to become the first wireless telecommunications operator to offer commercial GPRS in Russia. Through Amdocs Ensemble, VimpelCom is integrating its billing, ordering and payment process onto a single platform, eliminating the need for redundant systems. Amdocs Ensemble enables VimpelCom to enhance the one-to-one customer relationship by generating a single view throughout the entire customer lifecycle.
"Amdocs is dedicated to expanding its presence in Russia and Eastern Europe, becoming the first Western company to receive an Official Certificate of Conformity by the Russian government for its ability to meet Russian telecom billing compliance for deployment of up to 10 million subscribers," said Simon Cassif, President of Amdocs Europe. "Amdocs is very pleased to be working with industry leaders such as VimpelCom and to expand its successful relationship with Telenor affiliate companies, ensuring that their billing and customer care platforms address all the evolving requirements of the wireless market."
