User Study to Discuss How to Best Protect Data Stored on Mobile

Computers

Connected Corporation, the market-leading provider of PC data protection and management solutions and Acquis Consulting Group, a New York City-based management consulting firm today announced that Tom Hickman, Connected's senior engineering operations manager and Acquis Consulting COO and Partner, Randall Kane, will present as part of the Data Protection track at the Enterprise Storage Strategies Conference and Expo May 29-30th, 2002, at the Sheraton Premiere at Tyson's Corner in Vienna, VA. The conference, produced by INT Media Group, is a leading forum for developing and deploying enterprise-wide storage solutions.

"Given the highly mobile nature of our management consultants, our staff rely heavily on laptop PCs as their primary information devices," said Randall Kane of Acquis Consulting. "I realized that allowing our employees to roam with unprotected PCs was just not acceptable. By implementing a PC data availability solution, we are able to not only protect every laptop's information from any location, but also create a retrievable archive to ensure that crucial research and data is always available, even while on the road."

The user study titled, "Protecting Data for the Mobile Worker," will discuss the measures that can be taken to protect data residing on mobile computers, and the ways to minimize the damages associated with lost or stolen mobile PCs. The session will outline Acquis Consulting Group's experience implementing the Connected TLM software to protect consultants' data while on the road. Connected and Acquis invite you to hear about this study on Thursday, May 30th, at 2:30 PM at the Sheraton Premiere at Tyson's Corner.

"Now more than ever, corporations must ensure that all PC-based information is protected and available as the time and money spent trying to retrieve that data are staggering and unacceptable," said Tom Hickman of Connected Corporation. "The Enterprise Storage Strategies conference is an ideal forum to educate executives about comprehensive data protection. All too often, only server-based information is protected. According to industry analysts, such a limited strategy leaves up to 60 percent of corporate data unprotected as it's stored out on employee laptops and desktops which generally have no automated, efficient process for comprehensive system backup."
