Silverpop Systems Announces Formal Creation of Strategic Advisory Board

Board of business experts, academics and market influencers to

provide Silverpop management with strategic insight and feedback

Silverpop Systems, a provider of e-mail marketing and customer communication management software and services, today announced the formal appointment of the Silverpop Strategic Advisory Board, formed to provide the company with ongoing advice, introductions and feedback.

As Silverpop continues to produce innovative, enterprise-class software solutions for controlling and managing permission-based communications, the Board will offer ongoing guidance from product-related strategic planning to corporate and business development. Silverpop's appointments to the Board consist of respected individuals from business and academic fields. The initial appointments are:

Jeff Sonnenfeld - Dr. Jeff Sonnenfeld, in addition to his role as the Founder, President and CEO of the Yale Chief Executive Leadership Institute, is the Associate Dean for Executive Programs at the Yale School of Management. Previously, he was a professor at the Goizueta Business School of Emory University. There, he founded the Center for Leadership and Career Studies, which he ran for eight years. Prior to this, Sonnenfeld spent ten years as a professor at the Harvard Business School. He received his AB, MBA and doctorate from Harvard University, and is the recipient of a number of national educational awards and distinctions.

Chris Evans - Chris Evans founded Accipiter, a developer of Web-based advertising technology and tracking software, in 1996 and eventually sold the company to Engage Technologies in 1999, where he served as Vice Chairman. Previously, Evans was a co-founder of DaVinci Systems, the developer of the first e-mail program compatible with the then-new Windows operating system. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University.

John Willcutts - John Willcutts is currently serving as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Benchmark Capital, where he is working with the firm to evaluate investments and advise portfolio companies while he is working on his own new business plan. Previously, Willcutts was a Vice President and General Manager of Yahoo!, where he led the Enterprise Services Group. There, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of Corporate Yahoo!, the company's enterprise information portal solution. Willcutts is a graduate of the University of Tennessee.

Mike Tolbert - Mike Tolbert is the Vice President of Sales for ProSight Inc., a leading provider in portfolio management software solutions. Previously, Tolbert was Senior Vice President of sales for SAP America, where he was responsible for revenues totaling more than $250 million, ten regional managers and a sales force of more than 100 executives and consultants. Prior to this role, he was the Vice President of North American Sales for Netfish Technologies, where his sales efforts helped position the company as an attractive acquisition target for Iona Technologies. Tolbert has also had senior sales positions at Siebel Systems and Oracle Corporation.
