Inktomi Corp. (NASDAQ:INKT), developer of scalable network infrastructure software, and China Unicom Limited (HKSE: 0762; NYSE: CHU), the second largest telecommunications services provider in China, today announced that China Unicom has selected Inktomi as one of the Internet technology vendors to build a national content delivery network (CDN) covering 10 cities in China. Under terms of the agreement, China Unicom will deploy Inktomi(R) content networking software across its backbone network to enable fast, efficient content delivery to Internet users and content service providers. Inktomi content networking software provides a flexible, scalable platform for delivering a range of content distribution services that can easily expand to support new offerings as the market evolves.
