DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 30, 2002
S2 Systems, a global provider of transaction processing, authorization and integrated solutions for the banking, financial, retail and travel sectors, announced today it will join Intel's Solution Provider Program, a worldwide solution integrator-focused channel initiative that provides businesses with a source for standardized e-Business solutions.
S2 Systems and Intel have agreed to work together to deploy Intel architecture-based enterprise payment and transaction management solutions to replace antiquated and costly proprietary systems, from the front-end through the data center.
"We have been working with Intel for several years and winning over major clients to next generation payment solutions that utilize state-of-the-art technologies," said Stephen Clark, president and CEO of S2 Systems. "More recently S2 Systems and Intel jointly validated a new industry benchmark of 1800 transactions per second (tps) that simulated a complex mix of memory-intensive financial transactions at an Intel Solutions Center. S2 Systems' innovative OpeN/2(R) takes advantage of open standards to deliver strong price and performance value in combination with the industry's most compelling return on investment (ROI)."
Launched two years ago, the Intel Solution Provider Program's technology enablement occurs through the use of Intel labs, engineers, and training programs. Members have access to Intel's database of collateral, white papers and solution briefs, as well as to Intel client and server hardware, software, and networking products. In addition, Solution Providers and Intel will cooperate in marketing and sales development activities.
"Intel's Solution Provider Program provides e-Business solution integration experts with the products, tools, resources, and technical information they need to offer the best Intel-based solutions to their customers," said Scott Trumbull, director of Intel's Solutions Market Development Group. "We are excited to work with S2 Systems to make Intel architecture the platform of choice and an infrastructure standard to replace problematical payment-based transaction processing systems with solutions that infinitely scale."
S2 Systems' Intel-based OpeN/2(R) delivers a "future proof" infrastructure solution that can reliably sustain exponentially higher transaction volumes with unlimited scalability. Major card processors are now pushing towards 500 tps and continued industry consolidation dictates that any threshold benchmark below 1000 tps is already obsolete. Expensive proprietary systems are therefore being systematically displaced as S2 continues to raise the bar by utilizing leading edge hardware, operating systems, and relational database technologies. Most importantly, S2 Systems' can help organizations achieve reduced cost of ownership and a rapid ROI.
Intel's Solution Provider Program builds on Intel's long history of success in working with application vendors through the optimization and porting efforts of the company's two dozen e-Business Solution Labs, where technology leaders are able to tune and optimize software running on Intel architecture-based systems. The Solution Provider Program enables solutions integrators to expand their solution capabilities by working with other providers to build end-to-end electronic commerce solutions. Intel supports their Solution Provider Program participants with business development seminars, regional technical training events, and a variety of Intel architecture related content on the Solution Provider Center website.
