Innovative Product Fulfills Compaq's Requirements for Bluetooth

Wireless Performance and Interoperability

TROY Wireless, a division of TROY Group Inc. (Nasdaq:TROY) and a leader in short-range wireless connectivity solutions, today announced that Compaq Computer Corp. (NYSE:CPQ) has approved TROY Wireless' WindConnect(TM) Bluetooth(TM) print adapter for use with the following Compaq products:

-- Bluetooth MultiPort by Compaq

-- Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC H3870

-- Compaq Bluetooth Wireless Pack with CF Card Slot

TROY Wireless' WindConnect Bluetooth print adapter will be showcased in the Bluetooth Product Compatibility Matrix on the Compaq Web site.

Patrick Dirk, TROY Group's Chairman and CEO, said: "This approval is a major catalyst in launching our Bluetooth product line. Compaq's inclusion of TROY Wireless' WindConnect print adapter in the Compaq online Bluetooth Compatibility Matrix further demonstrates TROY's commitment to ensuring interoperability with a broad range of Bluetooth peripherals."

TROY Wireless' WindConnect print adapter is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of mobile users. The compact device connects to most popular printers, allowing Bluetooth wireless connectivity capabilities. It allows devices with Bluetooth capability, such as notebook computers, PDAs, and mobile phones to connect to the printer -- no cables required.

The Bluetooth MultiPort by Compaq can be used with a range of MultiPort-enabled notebooks including the recently announced Presario 2800 and Evo Notebook N800. MultiPort modules are also supported on the Evo D500 Ultra-slim Desktop. The MultiPort design provides users with decisive advantages in terms of performance and flexibility. MultiPort modules place the antenna in the most optimal position and as user installable options, users can easily swap one wireless technology for another or upgrade to new technologies as they become available.

Compaq's iPAQ Pocket PC H3870 with integrated Bluetooth is wirelessly enabled and fully portable. About the size of a calculator, it comes standard with applications such as Microsoft Pocket Word(TM), Excel(TM), Outlook(TM), Internet Explorer(TM), and Windows Media(TM) Player.

Compaq's Bluetooth Wireless Pack simply slides onto the iPAQ Pocket PC to add Bluetooth functionality along with an open CompactFlash Card expansion slot. Not only can users print from the iPAQ Pocket PC using Bluetooth technology, they can also exchange business cards and files with other Bluetooth handheld computers, dial-up a wireless data connection through a Bluetooth cellular phone, and synchronize their data with a desktop PC.
