"Tonight Show" And "ER" Appearances Latest Triumphs,

As Band's National Profile Continues To Climb

The long and winding road won't stop anytime soon for Abandoned Pools, as the ever-busy Extasy Records band continues its U.S. tour with Garbage and snags the opening slot for Grammy-winning rocker Lenny Kravitz's upcoming North American tour (along with Pink). The tour, jointly presented by MTV and VH-1, kicks off July 12th in Virginia Beach, moving on to 33 cities nationwide through September. In addition, watch for "The Remedy" video on the May 9 episode of "ER" as well as the band performance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on June 5.

The tour comes as Abandoned Pools has begun breaking out nationally, thanks to the band's Extasy debut album HUMANISTIC and premiere single, "The Remedy." The single continues its assault on national radio, with stations such as KROQ/LA, WXRK/New York, KYSR/LA, KITS/San Francisco, KPLZ/Seattle, WZZN/Chicago, Q101/Chicago, KDGE/Dallas, WBCN/Boston, KEDJ/Phoenix, KFSD/San Diego, WHFS/D.C., WMFS/Memphis, KMXN/Anaheim and KTBZ/Houston having added it to their playlists. The video is in regular rotation on MTV2 and is #1 on The Rock Show, as well as being featured on Windows Media. This week, the album jumps to #6 on the Billboard Alternative New Artist Chart and #12 on Billboard's Heat Seekers chart.

On the TV front, Abandoned Pools makes its "Tonight Show" debut with an appearance on June 5th, during which the band will perform "The Remedy." And just in time for May sweeps, the video of "The Remedy" is featured prominently in a climactic episode of top-rated drama "ER" (the biggest episode in TV this season with a projected viewing audience of 50 million).

L.A.-based Abandoned Pools is the brainchild of former eels member Tommy Walters. Produced by the Boston-based team of Paul Q. Kolderie and Sean Slade (the duo behind Hole's "Live Through This" and Radiohead's "Pablo Honey"), and mixed by Chris Lord -Alge (Green Day, Replacements), "Humanistic" is Walter's first work since leaving eels, with whom he recorded the acclaimed album "Beautiful Freaks." The multi-talented musician co-produced the new album and played a majority of instruments. Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, The Vandals) played drums while an assortment of instruments bits including bass clarinet, piano, clavinet and guitar were added by both Slade and Kolderie.
