WAYNE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 11, 2002
Offers Interfaces to MicroStrategy 7i and Oracle8i-9i
arcplan, a leading developer of business intelligence solutions, announces the release of dynaSight(R) 3.5, the newest version of its flagship analytic development platform.
dynaSight's rapid application development environment helps IT get critical data quickly to business users; and in turn, its highly intuitive interface enables users to easily obtain, analyze and act on information. Companies are then able to reap maximum value from enterprise IT investments.
"With added operating systems, new native interfaces, and enriched functionality, dynaSight 3.5 builds on the solid technology of previous versions," said Roland Hoelscher, arcplan Inc. president and CEO.
In addition to its current deployment on the Windows operating system, dynaSight 3.5 is now available for general release on UNIX for the IBM AIX 4.3.3 and Sun Solaris 7 and 8 platforms. By adding AIX and Sun Solaris support, dynaSight can now leverage the scalability and reliability of these UNIX-based enterprise server solutions. In addition to these operating systems, arcplan is continuing its evolution of dynaSight to include use on HP-UX 11, Mac OS X, and Linux in coming releases.
Executing on its recent partnership with MicroStrategy, arcplan has developed an interface to the MicroStrategy 7i Business Intelligence Platform. The MicroStrategy MDX Adapter interface supports unlimited access to enterprise information and analytics provided by the MicroStrategy BI platform. As a result, this connection will now enable the implementation of fully customized dynaSight applications based on MicroStrategy data.
Version 3.5 now offers a native interface to Oracle's relational database. Beginning with Oracle8i and continuing through their most recent Oracle9i release, this interface, which complements the previously offered ODBC interface for Oracle, is available on both the UNIX and Windows operating systems.
dynaSight 3.5 offers SAP Enterprise Portal users a single sign-on capability. This allows users to reduce the number of passwords needed to access their data through dynaSight from various SAP sub-systems, while maintaining the same level of security.
Other enhancements round out the significant improvements made with dynaSight 3.5. These include:
-- functions to support Linked Reporting Objects (LRO) with Hyperion Essbase -- improvements in the handling of web-based consolidation with Hyperion Enterprise -- support of "browser tables" for SAP Business Information Warehouse (BW), Microsoft Analysis Services and iTM1 from Applix via the OLE DB for OLAP interface -- the ability to use the SELECT function to create self-defined MDX statements in addition to the dynamic MDX generation -- a new GETWEBSERVERVARIABLE() function to receive web-server administrated user settings and functions -- an enhancement to copying and pasting data to and from dynaSight-based web applications
