BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 12, 2002
Clearswift, the world's leading provider of software for managing and securing electronic communications, today announced the upgrade of its ENTERPRISEsuite high performance Internet SMTP gateway e-mail management solution -- ES ClearEdge 4.9.
ENTERPRISEsuite meets the needs of security and IT executives seeking control of electronic communications and to reduce costs and risks of spam, pornography, loss of intellectual property and breaches of confidentiality. It delivers the e-policy infrastructure and the enforcement technology required to deploy a comprehensive management and security solution across multiple protocols, multiple locations and multiple servers.
Inbound and outbound communications
ClearEdge enables large, complex organizations to enforce policy management for inbound and outbound e-mail communications at the Internet SMTP gateway -- all within the ClearPoint PMI. ClearEdge provides protection against:
-- Lost productivity, damage to reputation and increased infrastructure costs from viruses and e-mail misuse -- Confidentiality breaches -- Exposure to legal liability -- Harassment of employees
Key e-policy components that help to address these issues include text analysis and file blocking, spam filtering, integration with third party Anti-Virus tools and removal of scripts and attachments.
Operational, Management and Performance Enhancements
ClearEdge 4.9 offers a number of significant operational, management and performance enhancements over the previous version. Multiple e-mail quarantine areas are provided, enabling separation and policy-based access to blocked e-mails. Delegated roles based management enables customers to delegate tasks in a secure fashion. Automatic replication of e-policy across servers is another resilience improvement feature. Customers are also offered a new Active anti-spam service. Finally, to add to the wide range of Anti-Virus products supported, ClearEdge 4.9 introduces integration with the Symantec Anti-Virus product.
ClearEdge is managed by ClearPoint PMI (Policy Management Infrastructure), and is tightly integrated with the ClearSecure encrypted messaging engine.
