FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 12, 2002
IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for IT markets, today announced the debut of the COMNET Real World Experts - true to life stories of IT end users who have successfully implemented technology solutions that made a difference for their companies or clients. IDG World Expo is collecting Real World Expert profiles to feature on the COMNET Conference & Expo Web site, as well as on-site at the upcoming COMNET Conference & Expo, taking place January 27-30, 2003 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
The COMNET Real World Experts program spotlights the heroes behind technology implementations in four main areas: Web services, wireless, security and storage. IT end users who have successfully implemented solutions in one of these four areas are invited to submit their stories online in the "Show Attractions" area of www.comnetexpo.com.
The first featured Real World Expert is Tom Mahoney, network manager at Franklin & Marshall College. Mahoney and his team recently implemented a campus-wide wireless network for students and faculty, with blanket coverage of every classroom, lab, office and recreational area of the campus. A complete description of the implementation detailing the challenges and solution is available on the COMNET site.
"During these tough times, IT end users are often forced to make miracles happen with limited resources," said Rob Scheschareg, vice president of sales, marketing and product development, IDG World Expo. "Not only do these Real World Experts deserve recognition for their hard work and creativity, but they can also offer valuable lessons to their peers who are facing similar challenges."
Selected Real World Experts will be featured on the COMNET Web site and on signage at the upcoming event in Washington, D.C., and each will receive a 2-day conference pass for COMNET Conference & Expo 2003.
