Health Information Privacy Alert, one of the leading publications on health data management, announces the debut of its Healthcare Business Audio Seminar Series. Its premier seminar: Defending Your Healthcare Merger: Strategies for Coping with FTC's Retrospective Reviews continues the publication's commitment to fostering discussions on the fundamental issues confronting the healthcare industry.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has launched a program to identify and "un-do" hospital mergers and affiliations that have produced anticompetitive effects. "Not only is this provoking concern within the industry but it is serving to encourage new lawsuits by healthcare payers," explained Dennis Melamed, publisher of Health Information Privacy Alert.
To assist executives in meeting these challenges, Health Information Privacy Alert along with the law firm Epstein Becker & Green, management consultants Reynolds and Company and financial consultants LECG are sponsoring this important seminar.
When: Nov. 19, 2002 at 1:00 - 2:30 pm Eastern
Participants will learn:
-- What issues are likely to capture the FTC's attention; -- Compliance steps that may reduce legal vulnerabilities; -- Strategies for defending against payor lawsuits; and -- Current trends in litigation and post-affiliation investigations.
