Toshiba's WRC-1000 Wireless Router Solution Allows End-Users to Share
Internet Access and Network Data with the Freedom and Convenience of
Wireless Connectivity
Continuing to expand its line-up of innovative mobile computing products, Toshiba's Computer Systems Group (CSG) today announced its entrance into the wireless router market with the introduction of its WRC-1000 multi-functional wireless Cable/DSL router.
Ideal for retail shops, small offices, homes and education venues, Toshiba's WRC-1000 offers a high-performance sharing solution that allows users to share data between existing wired and wireless computers. Users can share files, photos and printers with the ease and convenience of wireless connectivity.
"The WRC-1000 router complements Toshiba's already extensive line of wireless mobile computing products," said Oscar Koenders, vice president product marketing and worldwide product planning, Toshiba CSG.
"We continually strive to offer customers new innovative products at exceptional values. With the addition of our wireless router, Toshiba's customers have the ability to choose from a variety of wireless computing solutions that best fit their needs and have the backing of Toshiba's renowned reputation for quality and reliability."
Protecting Your Network With Enhanced Security
Toshiba's WRC-1000 enables sharing of a high-speed Internet connection while protecting the network with four levels of maximum-security features. The first level of protection starts with a robust firewall security feature that enhances protection against hackers and other invaders. Secondly, it supports the new 802.1x feature for enhanced access control capability.
Advanced SSID protection is the third level of protection, concealing the network name from unwelcome users. Lastly, the WRC-1000 supports both 64- and 128-bit WEP encryptions for maximum privacy.
Ideal Wireless Networking Product Extends Internet Connection
For both the mobile home and small business user looking for security and wireless mobility, Toshiba's WRC-1000 is the perfect networking solution. The WRC-1000 offers an affordable easy way to share and extend broadband Internet connection anywhere in the home or office, either with or without cables.
The high-performance 802.11b Access Point connects all computers wirelessly, while an integrated 4-port 10/100 Mbps router connects all peripheral devices. This high-performance combination enables the end-user to experience the ideal wireless or wired connectivity solution.
Ease of Use and Set-Up
With plug and play functionality, Toshiba's WRC-1000 ease of use and set-up allows the purchaser to just plug it in, follow a few easy steps and it's ready to go. Fully compliant with the Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b) standard, the WRC-1000 networking solution is compatible with all existing 802.11b wireless connectivity devices.
Pricing and Availability
The WRC-1000 is available via shoptoshiba.com for $179 with a $30 instant rebate.
