Jacobs Receives Program Management Consultant Contract from the City of Reno

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that a subsidiary company received a contract to oversee the largest capital improvement project ever undertaken by the city of Reno, Nev.

Startup on this $268 million rail program began on September 13, 2002, with completion estimated for December 2005.

As program management consultant, Jacobs will oversee the project's design-build contractor on a depressed section of 2.1 miles of rail through Reno, Nevada. The project will place the Union Pacific Railroad main line more than 30 feet below grade as the rail passes through the downtown Reno area.

Jacobs will also perform oversight monitoring for quality, review design and traffic control plans, verify geotechnical report findings and recommendations, perform project controls and scheduling, and monitor the inspection work of the design-build general contractor.
