DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 26, 2002

The Dallas chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators has named Jodi Hodak, ABC, its 2001-2002 Communicator of the Year (COTY). Hodak is the 31st award recipient.

As president of WriteAway Communications, Hodak provides full-service consulting for several corporate clients, particularly in the areas of marketing and employee communication. In 2001, she received certification as a Woman Business Owner from the Women's Business Economic Council.

Hodak is currently serving as treasurer on the Dallas/IABC Board of Directors. She is an Accredited Business Communicator (ABC), a professional certification administered by IABC. She has been a recipient of Bronze Quill awards from Dallas/IABC and Addy Awards from the Press Club of Dallas. She is a Cum Laude graduate of California State University at Northridge, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Writing.

A panel of independent judges selected Hodak based on the quality of her work samples, her service to IABC and related accomplishments.

Other COTY finalists included:

-- Carol Barreyre, ABC, communication consultant, McKinney, Texas;

-- Scott Cytron, ABC, president, Cytron and Company, Dallas;

-- Donna Itzoe, manager, IT Communications, Verizon, Inc., Irving, Texas; and
