Kraft Foods International Appoints Johnson to Head Corporate Affairs

NORTHFIELD, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 27, 2002

Kraft Foods Inc. (NYSE:KFT), a global leader in branded foods and beverages, announced today that its international food business has named Richard Johnson, 39, currently Director Corporate Affairs, European Union, as Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Kraft Foods International.

Richard will report to Roger Deromedi, Co-CEO, Kraft Foods Inc. and President and Chief Executive Officer of Kraft Foods International.

"In his new role, Richard can draw upon his vast experience managing the complex corporate affairs issues in the European Union, our largest region. I look forward to Richard continuing to build our international corporate affairs function," said Deromedi.

Richard began his career with Kraft in 1991 and has held corporate affairs positions of increasing responsibility within the organization. After an initial assignment in Brussels helping to establish a Kraft European Affairs office, Richard relocated to the UK in 1994 to develop a new corporate affairs function for Kraft's UK business. In 1997, he assumed responsibility for corporate affairs activities across Northern Europe and for the last three years has served in his current capacity.

Richard received his Bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from the University of Reading in England.
