Borders(R) is celebrating the grand opening of its 27,000-square-foot store in San Jose, Calif.--located in the Santana Row project across from Valley Fair Mall--from Wednesday, Dec. 11, through Sunday, Dec. 15. Throughout the weekend, special events are planned including Universal's "A Universe of Music and Movies," "Disney Day" and "Yoga Journal Day."

Wednesday, Dec. 11 - Meet "The Rookie"

-- 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. - Jim Morris will talk about and sign copies

of his book "The Oldest Rookie," the inspiration for the movie

Thursday, Dec. 12 - Santa Visits

-- 4 p.m. - Special after school story time with Santa

Friday, Dec. 13 - Universal's "A Universe of Music & Movies"

-- "Grand Prize Giveaway," includes a DVD player and a Universal music and movie starter set

-- Free copy of the "Wall Street Journal," while supplies last

-- 7 p.m. - Paul Herder, jazz pianist

Saturday, Dec. 14 - Disney Day

-- First 250 children through the door will receive cool Disney

talks about and provides food samples from her cookbook, "The
