ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 2002

Concurrent Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:CCUR), the pioneer and market leader in commercial Video-On-Demand (VOD) deployments, today announced that it will introduce integrated solutions for VOD and interactive television (iTV) to the telecommunications carrier industry at the Telco TV Conference & Expo on Nov. 15, 2002 at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel in New Orleans, La.

Concurrent will be showcasing its industry-leading video streaming technology. A demonstration with partner Thirdspace - an integrated end-to-end digital video system solution for digital subscriber line (DSL)-based telecommunications full service providers - will include digital video broadcast, program guide, Video-On-Demand, electronic mail and television-based access to the Internet. Concurrent will also show how the most popular interactive video games can be brought to the home via the television. Thirdspace recently announced an exclusive partnership with G-cluster, the games service and system provider. Powered by Concurrent's MediaHawk in the integrated solution, existing multiplayer video games with 3D graphics and stereo sound can now be played by households on conventional TV set-top boxes (or personal computers) with Thirdspace Open Video Client (OVC) capability.

Focusing on consumer convenience, choice and control, a second demonstration will highlight subscription Video-On-Demand (SVOD) as the subscriber would experience this fully interactive on-demand service in the home. This demonstration will include Concurrent's SVOD service, encompassing feature films, new release films and original programming. The Telco TV audience will be treated to an interactive demonstration, including an interactive paid television (iptv) menu; channel line up, with the SVOD service as one of the channels; SVOD menu; and a variety of hit movie genres - all with full viewer control.

In addition, Del Kunert, Concurrent vice president, Marketing & Business Development, will be a featured panel speaker. Mr. Kunert joins a session entitled, "Competing with Digital Cable and DTV." With the cable and satellite industry vying for traditional telecom subscribers, this session will address how traditional telephone companies can use video to offensively and defensively defend their markets. Mr. Kunert's presentation will focus on revenue models for VOD and iTV based on Concurrent's experience in commercial deployments of VOD and iTV supporting 3.4 million digital subscribers. Additionally, he will introduce the possibility of future applications and revenue models of additional services such as interactive advertising, Personal Video Channel(TM) (pVC(TM)), and video centric shopping. Other speakers will include Michelle Abraham, senior analyst, Cahners In-Stat Group's Converging Markets & Technologies Group and Jay Fausch, senior director, Strategic Marketing, Alcatel - Broadband Access.
