New TabletPlanner Software for Tablet PC Allows Users to
Maximize Digital Age with Familiar Paper Planning Environment
FranklinCovey(R) (NYSE:FC), a global firm providing training and tools to assist individuals and organizations in measurably increasing their productivity and effectiveness, and Agilix Labs(TM), an innovative developer of mobile wireless solutions for the Tablet PC, today announced a marketing agreement with HP that allows a free 30-day trial version of the new FranklinCovey TabletPlanner(TM) Software for the Tablet PC to be promoted with the forthcoming Compaq Tablet PC TC 1000.
TabletPlanner, which is powered by Agilix Labs, is a unique planning and productivity software application for the Windows XP-powered Tablet PC that combines the ease of the Tablet PC's handwriting interface with the storage capacity, organization, indexing and retrieval capabilities of a mobile notebook computer.
Under the terms of the agreement, HP will market and promote the TabletPlanner by providing access to a free 30-day trial version of the software on the Compaq Tablet PC. In return, FranklinCovey will share revenues from sales of its TabletPlanner software with HP.
"With this agreement, users of the Compaq Tablet PC TC 1000 will have access to the same planning system that helps more than 6 million people today focus and execute on key organizational objectives," said Jeff Anderson, vice president of technology products for FranklinCovey. "As the developers of this software, FranklinCovey and Agilix are thrilled to partner with HP on their new and innovative platform."
"FranklinCovey's TabletPlanner software is an ideal way for customers to leverage the versatility and mobility of the Compaq Tablet PC," said Ted Clark, vice president of Emerging Mobility Technology, HP Personal Systems Group. "By providing access to free trial versions of this software, HP is confident that users will recognize TabletPlanner as a component that makes the Tablet PC one of the most effective and well-rounded planning and productivity tools available."
With screen views similar to the traditional paper-based FranklinCovey Planner, TabletPlanner is an ideal product for maximizing the power, versatility and mobility of the Compaq Tablet PC. The natural handwriting interface allows users to fully implement the FranklinCovey Planning System(TM) methodology into a completely digital format. The TabletPlanner software for the Tablet PC allows users to incorporate popular FranklinCovey productivity methodology such as the Appointment Schedule, Prioritized Daily Task List(TM), Daily Notes and much more, into their daily planning. In addition, it allows users of the application to automatically organize and quickly access handwritten and typed notes and documents by utilizing the natural pen-based interface and state-of-the-art search and retrieval capabilities.
Tablet Planner will make its debut on Nov. 7 during national launch events of the Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition operating system in New York, as well as 62 regional Microsoft launch events throughout November.
TabletPlanner has been developed around FranklinCovey's world-renowned What Matters Most time management and productivity curriculum, in which more than 20,000 professionals are trained each month. The application is also based upon the FranklinCovey Planning System principles practiced by more than 6 million people around the world.
