FranklinCovey(R)(NYSE:FC), a global firm providing training and tools to assist individuals and organizations in measurably increasing their productivity and effectiveness, today announced a marketing agreement with Acer(R) America Corp. that allows a trial version of the new FranklinCovey TabletPlanner(TM) Software for the Tablet PC to be bundled with the new Acer TravelMate Tablet PC.
"With its TravelMate device, Acer has one of the truly unique Tablet PCs because of its ability to convert instantly from a laptop to a tablet," says Jeff Anderson, vice president of technology products for FranklinCovey. "By including a trial version of the TabletPlanner software with the TravelMate, FranklinCovey feels it is providing a vital productivity and effectiveness component that not only meshes well with the ease and convenience of the Tablet PC environment, but also provides a way for individuals to focus on top priorities in order to execute on key organizational objectives."
TabletPlanner, which is powered by Agilix Labs, is a unique planning and productivity software application for the Windows-powered Tablet PC that combines the ease of the Tablet PC's handwriting interface with the storage capacity, organization, indexing and recall capabilities of a mobile notebook computer.
"The FranklinCovey TabletPlanner software is a great example of a planning and productivity tool that is a perfect fit with the Acer TravelMate Tablet PC," said Patrick Lin, president of Acer America Corp. "Combining the power of Microsoft's Windows XP Tablet PC operating system and FranklinCovey's TabletPlanner with Acer's award-winning 3.1 lb. TravelMate Tablet PC creates a `go anywhere' ultra portable notebook with incredible power and versatility."
With screen views similar to the traditional paper-based FranklinCovey Planner, TabletPlanner is an ideal product for maximizing the power, versatility and mobility of the Tablet PC. The natural handwriting interface allows users to fully implement the FranklinCovey Planning System(TM) methodology into a completely digital format. The TabletPlanner software for the Tablet PC allows users to incorporate popular FranklinCovey productivity methodology such as the Appointment Schedule, Prioritized Daily Task List(TM), Daily Notes and much more, into their daily planning. In addition, it allows users of the application to automatically organize and quickly access handwritten and typed notes, e-mail and documents by utilizing the natural pen-based interface and state-of-the-art search and retrieval capabilities.
Tablet Planner will make its debut on Nov. 7 during national launch events of the Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition operating system in New York City, as well as 62 regional Microsoft launch events throughout November.
TabletPlanner has been developed around FranklinCovey's world-renowned Focus: Achieving Your Highest Priorities time management and productivity curriculum, in which more than 20,000 professionals are trained each month.
