BOSTON & LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 2002

U.S. Senator Harry Reid (D-NV), Assistant Majority Leader, member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee and recognized leader in counter-terrorism, was selected today to deliver opening remarks at BioSecurity 2002, an international scientific and educational conference taking place November 18-21, 2002 at the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas.

The conference is designed to provide a forum for senior government officials, scientists, researchers, physicians, public health and hospital officials, nurses and first responders to prepare for and learn how to control bioterrorism threats. "The terrorist plots of the last year were a tremendous wake up call to the world that biosecurity is an issue that we must address," said Senator Reid. "Government leaders, first responders, public health officials and healthcare professionals are hungry for practical information. I am confident that BioSecurity 2002 will help provide the critical solutions to the global challenges of bioterrorism."

"We are honored to add Senator Reid to our list of global leaders participating in BioSecurity 2002," said Dr. Robert Crone, President and CEO of Harvard Medical International. "Senator Reid has demonstrated a strong commitment to preparedness in the realm of bioterrorism, and we look forward to gaining his thoughts on future policy in the arena of biosecurity."

"Senator Reid's leadership in supporting counter terrorism training demonstrates his commitment to making the country a safer place," said Fredric D. Rosen, Chairman and CEO, Key3Media Group.
