DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 10, 2002
Tabernus (formerly known as Peripheral Test Instruments) has been named to Deloitte & Touche's prestigious Technology Fast 50 program for Colorado, a ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the state.
Rankings are based on the percentage of growth in fiscal year revenues from 1997-2001 (five-year period).
Marissa Ponikvar, President and CEO of Tabernus, credits strategic alliances and exceeding customer expectations in the peripheral test tools market to the company's 62% percent revenue growth from 1997-2001. She said: "We are extremely pleased with our execution and are firing on all cylinders. Our high growth rate is a direct result of our commitment and ability to successfully deliver comprehensive manufacturing and mass storage testing solutions to the world's leading technology customers. As we look forward, we see unprecedented and sustainable growth opportunities for Tabernus based on strong industry fundamentals and our continued successful execution for our customers."
"To attain a listing on the Technology Fast 50 is no easy feat, and we at Deloitte & Touche congratulate Tabernus for attaining this honor," said Gary McIver, partner-in-charge of the Colorado Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group.
Tabernus works closely with such industry leaders as LSI Logic to rapidly develop software solutions, allowing them to stay ahead of the market curve and fully capitalize on the latest trends. One such example is Tabernus' latest product released this month, the Orion Ultra 320 (U320) Software Developer's Kit (SDK). By building upon the LSI Logic Fusion-MPT(TM) (Message Passing Technology) architecture, Tabernus has been able to deliver innovative solutions for the U320 hard disk drive market ahead of their competition.
"Tabernus is a clear leader in developing testing solutions for the mass storage industry. Use of our Ultra320 SCSI product as a benchmark for the Orion SDK validates our position as the industry leader in this next generation SCSI technology. We've pleased to be able to contribute to their' success and look forward to a productive and continuing relationship with Tabernus and with Seagate," said David Steele, director of product planning and management for the LSI Logic storage standard products division.
To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 1997 and $1,000,000 in 2001, must be public or private companies headquartered Colorado, and be "technology companies," defined as companies that own proprietary technology which contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues or devotes a high percentage of effort to research and development of technology.
Winners of the 20 regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America's top 500 fastest-growing technology companies.
