Windows & .NET Magazine Adds to Long List of Industry Accolades

for Groundbreaking WinTel-based High Availability Server Series

NEC Solutions (America), Inc., a leading provider of business solutions and services for the high-end commercial and professional markets in North America, has been honored by Windows & .NET Magazine for exhibiting one of the most strategically important technologies at the Microsoft Exchange Conference(R) (MEC 2002(R)). At the MEC 2002 conference last week, the "MEC Best of Show Award" in the Networking and Infrastructure category, was presented to NEC Solutions by Janet Robbins, editor-in-chief of Windows & .NET Magazine(R), one of the preeminent sources of information for the business uses of Microsoft(R) Windows(R)-based products.

NEC Solutions (America) was presented the honor for its groundbreaking high availability NEC Express5800/ft server. The server is the first Windows/Intel-based fault tolerant technology able to run Windows applications without modification in high availability environments. Currently the servers are in use by organizations in the fields of financial services, emergency services, medical discovery, telecommunications, local and federal government agencies and in a number of other mission-critical environments.

The field of contenders for the "MEC Best of Show" awards included more than 174 entries in five categories, including: management, mobility, networking/infrastructure, security, and collaboration and productivity. Michael Otey, a contest judge and senior technical editor of Windows & .NET Magazine, said, "We chose finalists based on the products' strategic importance to the market, the competitive advantages, and the value to the customer."

Otey continued, "The NEC Fault Tolerant server won because it allows Windows programs to run as high-availability applications without modification. Systems administrators will find this high-availability solution easier to manage than a cluster."

NEC Solutions (America) has garnered three "Best of Show" honors since the introduction of its NEC Express5800/320La. The company has also received numerous recommendations and accolades from trade-press lab reviews.
